Summer Celebrations with SFAF

Join us for art, cultural celebrations, activism, and plenty of Queer joy!

Action = Life Rally and Day of Action

June 7, 8:30 am – 5 pm 

We’re mobilizing to pass the HIV Community Budget Proposal and to fight for critical funding for housing and healthcare for LGBTQ and HIV communities in the San Francisco budget. Join us to make your voice heard – as we march and rally at City Hall and meet with leaders to share our stories. When we fight together – we win!

Juneteenth Celebration at SFAF 

June 12, noon – 3 pm 

Join us for a Juneteenth celebration at 940 Howard St. to commemorate the end of slavery in the U.S., marked by the day enslaved people in Texas learned of their freedom in 1865. 

Led by the Black Health department and supported by Black-identified staff at SFAF, we’ll have lunch catered by renowned Black and Queer-owned Soul Skillet, a drag performance by Ms. Bae Haven, spoken word by Chas Jackson, Drum and Dance Circle by Diamano Coura West African Dance Company, chair massage, art therapy, African beading, and a photobooth. 

San Francisco Juneteenth Freedom Celebration 

June 15, 2024 

Join SFAF’s Black Health team at San Francisco’s Juneteenth celebration in the Fillmore District, where team members will be distributing condoms, giving referrals, and celebrating African American culture and progress with our community.

Queer Open Mic at Strut

June 18, 7 pm 

Join us at Strut for a fun evening of queer talent at our in-person open mic event! Musicians, poets, comedians, and other performers are welcome to showcase their talents. Hosted by Cynthia in Public and Matthew Beld.

June 28, 2024 

Join the TransCare, AIDS/LifeCycle, Black Health, and TransLife teams and community members at Dolores Park for one of our favorite Pride weekend events. Our clinical services team will be offering onsite testing and info, and distributing condoms.

Felicia Flames Intergenerational TGI Brunch 

June 29, 2024, 10:30 am – 2:30 pm 

Transgender, gender-diverse, and intersex (TGI) community members, of all ages, are welcome to attend this SFAF brunch in honor of Felicia Elizondo AKA Felicia Flames, a trans activist who passed in 2021. No RSVP required.

San Francisco Pride

June 29-30, 2024 

Mark your calendars for a full weekend of events this Pride, including a special appearance by celebrity grand marshal Billy Porter. Come say hello to our Latine Programs team and volunteers who will be distributing condoms and information, and make sure to visit the Trans Futures Stage, sponsored in part by SFAF’s Black Health program.
