San Francisco AIDS Foundation opens full-service pharmacy in Castro

SAN FRANCISCO, February 10, 2026–San Francisco AIDS Foundation (SFAF) is delighted to announce the opening of a full-service pharmacy at Strut, its health and wellness center at 470 Castro Street in San Francisco. The pharmacy serves the HIV, PrEP, STI, and other medication needs of SFAF clients, and is able to fill prescriptions for all community members as well.

“After months of planning, construction, and regulatory reviews, we are happy to announce that the pharmacy is open and ready to serve our clients and community,” said Tyler TerMeer, PhD, CEO of SFAF. “Being able to meet the medication needs of our clients will improve the continuum of care that we provide to clients, and we look forward to serving our community with a newly expanded set of services.”

The SFAF Pharmacy staff operates in close collaboration with SFAF’s clinical team located at Strut, providing same-day access to new medications and refills in addition to medication delivery options. On-site pharmacists are able to prescribe and dispense all forms of PrEP, which expands the capacity of the PrEP program at Strut.

In addition to providing SFAF clients with a new service, the pharmacy will generate 340B savings which will be used to support the many programs and services offered by SFAF.

“At a moment when federal funding for HIV prevention and care, LGBTQ+ services, and work rooted in diversity, equity, and inclusion is increasingly under threat, it is critical that SFAF confront budget shortfalls head-on and build new, sustainable sources of revenue to protect our lifesaving work,” said Dr. TerMeer. “We are deeply grateful to our community for standing with us during this challenging time, and we remain unwavering in our commitment to serve our clients with the innovation, compassion, and partnership that have defined SFAF for more than four decades.”

The SFAF Pharmacy is open and ready to serve our community. It is located at 470 Castro St., Suite B, on the first floor of Strut.
