San Francisco AIDS Foundation Digital Accessibility Statement

1. Our Commitment to Digital Accessibility

San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Strut SFAF LLC, doing business as SFAF Pharmacy (together, “SFAF”), are committed to providing equal digital access and effective communication for all users, including people with disabilities. SFAF believes that every person should be able to use its digital properties to obtain information, access services, and communicate with staff.

SFAF has adopted the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as its target conformance standard. SFAF is working toward compliance with this standard by May 11, 2027.

This commitment applies to the following digital properties controlled by SFAF:

  • The sfaf.org website, including all English-language pages
  • Spanish-language pages published on sfaf.org
  • Downloadable documents made available through sfaf.org
  • Website forms used to contact SFAF or request services
  • Online services operated or directly controlled by SFAF

SFAF does not claim that its digital properties are fully conformant or certified at this time. The sections that follow describe the steps SFAF is taking to reach and maintain accessibility across these properties.

2. Accessibility Features and Ongoing Efforts

SFAF is working to build and maintain the following accessibility features across sfaf.org, its Spanish-language pages, downloadable documents, website forms, and online services. These represent current practices and active goals, not guarantees of full conformance.

  • Keyboard navigation: interactive elements operable without a mouse.
  • Heading structure: logical heading hierarchy to support screen readers and navigation.
  • Form labels: descriptive labels and instructions associated with form fields.
  • Alternative text: text descriptions for meaningful images and graphics.
  • Captions and transcripts: captions for video content and transcripts for audio content.
  • Color contrast: text and interface elements designed to meet minimum contrast ratios.
  • Zoom and reflow: content that reflows when magnified up to 200 percent without loss of information.
  • Accessible documents: PDF and other downloadable files structured for assistive technology access.

SFAF supports these practices through ongoing internal and external testing, prompt remediation of identified barriers, staff and vendor training on accessibility requirements, and consideration of accessibility in procurement decisions for new digital tools and platforms.

3. Third-Party Content and Services

Some SFAF services rely on third-party platforms that SFAF does not directly control. These platforms include healow (used for patient portal and appointment functions) and TBD Health (used for certain health services). Other third-party tools may also be integrated into SFAF digital properties from time to time.

SFAF works with these vendors to support and improve the accessibility of their platforms. SFAF considers accessibility when selecting and renewing third-party services and communicates its expectation that vendor platforms meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on a third-party platform used in connection with SFAF services, please report it using the contact information in Section 5 below. SFAF will work to help you find an alternative way to access the service or information you need at no additional cost to you.

4. Alternative Formats, Auxiliary Aids, and Reasonable Modifications

San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Strut SFAF LLC (doing business as SFAF Pharmacy) provide free alternative formats, auxiliary aids, and reasonable modifications to ensure effective communication and equal access to programs, services, and activities for people with disabilities.

Examples of available accommodations include:

  • Large print, Braille, audio, or electronic versions of documents
  • Qualified sign language interpreters and real-time captioning
  • Screen reader compatible digital content
  • Assistive listening devices
  • Other auxiliary aids or services as needed

To request an alternative format, auxiliary aid, or reasonable modification, contact SFAF using any of the methods listed in Section 5 of this statement. Please make requests as early as possible so that SFAF has adequate time to arrange the accommodation. All accommodations are provided at no cost to the requester.

5. How to Report an Accessibility Barrier

If you encounter a barrier on any SFAF digital property, we encourage you to let us know so we can address it. When submitting a report, please include the following details:

  • The URL or page where you experienced the barrier.
  • A description of the problem you encountered.
  • The device, operating system, and browser you were using.
  • Any assistive technology in use (for example, a screen reader or voice control software).
  • Your preferred method of contact so we can follow up.

6. No Retaliation and Last Updated Date

San Francisco AIDS Foundation and Strut SFAF LLC (doing business as SFAF Pharmacy) will not retaliate against, intimidate, threaten, coerce, or discriminate against any person who reports a digital accessibility barrier, requests an accommodation, requests an alternative format or auxiliary aid, or otherwise exercises rights related to accessibility or nondiscrimination.
