The Elizabeth Taylor 50-Plus Network is a social support network for gay, bisexual, and trans men aged 50 and older, inclusive of people who are HIV-negative and living with HIV.

Trans, Gender Non-Conforming, & Intersex (TGI) Aging Services

TGI Aging Services offers a menu of programming options to strengthen community, belonging, and healing among a transgender, genderqueer, and intersex older adults and elders.

Programming includes:

Glitter ‘n go: social and community events & outings
Transformaciones: twice-monthly support group for TransLatinas over the age of 50, facilitated by Dr. Silvia Sandoval in Spanish
Beyond the Binary: monthly event series for intersex & nonbinary community members
TGI Intergenerational Brunch: Monthly gather for trans, gender non-conforming & intersex people of all ages

Advocacy and Activism

Aging Services partners with SFAF’s HIV Advocacy Network, a grassroots group of activists in the Bay Area fighting to end the HIV and AIDS epidemic and improve the lives of communities impacted by HIV. Health justice, harm reduction, housing justice and HIV and aging are the main issues that we advocate for at the city, state and local levels.

Interested? Join us with HAN at HAN’s General Membership Meeting the first Monday of each month at Strut located at 470 Castro from 7 – 9 pm.

How do I become a member? Does it cost anything to join?

Become a member by attending one of our events and giving us your contact info. For more information, contact our team at 50Plus@action.sfaf.org.

Our services and activities are usually free, but there are occasionally events that may cost money to participate in.

Can I join even if I am not quite 50 yet?

We welcome all gay, bi & trans folx, but the focus is on those over 50 years of age. We have had attendees who are in their 30s, 40s, 50s and above.

How do I let you know I want to participate in a particular event?

To participate in a particular event, you can register from our Calendar of Events at https://50plus.sfaf.org/a/asevents, RSVP to 50Plus@action.sfaf.org or call 415-487-3132.

Can I bring a friend with me to an event?

Guests are often welcome, but this can change depending on the event, the cost of the event, and capacity of the venue.

What if I am not HIV-positive? May I still attend?

Our activities are designed for gay, bi and trans folx. We welcome people who are HIV-negative and who are living with HIV.

Are events wheelchair accessible?

We make every attempt to convene our activities in venues that are accessible to all. Occasionally there may be a circumstance where this is not the case. We try to list this in the event description.

What happens if I do not come a few times? Can I come back?

Yes, you’re always welcome at our events. We offer a “menu of opportunities” that you are welcome to attend or not attend. Contact staff if you have questions.
