Cycle to Zero
San Francisco AIDS Foundation is honored to carry forward the impactful, three-decade legacy of AIDS/LifeCycle. The event raised over $330 million dollars and affected the lives of over 500,000 cyclists, roadies, staff, donors, and the greater communities of San Francisco AIDS Foundation and the Los Angeles LGBT Center. While ALC’s journey has officially crossed its finish line, SFAF is beginning a new adventure. We ask ALC veterans – and new cyclists alike – to trust us, and come prepared with your joy and commitment for an entirely new experience!
SFAF envisions a future of Zero New HIV Diagnoses. Zero Stigma. Zero Inequity. Zero Overdose. Cycle or Crew with us for a better future.

A Brand New Route & Experience
With a launch north from San Francisco, the journey unfolds through breathtaking scenery, bringing riders inland to the Russian River, Sonoma, and back along the coast to San Francisco.
Day 1: SF to Guerneville (~85 miles)
Cyclists will head north through Marin County, amongst the beautiful Redwood forests, and end the day in Guerneville – a storied LGBTQ+ village along the Russian River. We’ll camp both nights at Camp Russian River and Johnson’s Beach, a 15-minute walk apart. And despite two campsites, Cycle to Zero will facilitate a cohesive community experience across both sites!
Day 2: Choose Your Own Adventure (~38-miles / ~65-miles / ~104-mile century)
From Guerneville, cyclist can pick 3 different – but equally spectacular – route options, all the way up to a full century ride. 1-Day Cyclists joining us on this day will choose one of these routes for their day-long adventure:
- Let’s Chill: ~38-miles
- Sweet Spot: ~65-miles
- Zero-Hero Century: ~104-miles
Day 2 is also your chance to explore Guerneville beyond the saddle: take a day off from riding to join sponsored Cycle to Zero activities, or lean farther into a choose-your-own-adventure with a self-guided wander through oh-so-cute Guerneville. The sky’s the limit!
Day 3: Guerneville to SF (~85 miles)
Return to San Francisco via the beautiful Sonoma coast.
Cycle to Zero marks the next evolution — expanding our reach, deepening engagement, and opening new doors for our community of supporters. With an expansive vision, this event strengthens our sense of chosen family while welcoming more ways to take part and belong.
