Volunteer with Bridgemen: “On Your Knees!” at National AIDS Memorial Grove
October 19 8:30 am - 1:00 pm PDT
First conceived in 1988, the National AIDS Memorial Grove in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park is a dedicated space where those touched by AIDS can gather to heal, hope and remember. Its mission is to provide, in perpetuity, a place of remembrance so that the lives of all those who have died from AIDS are not forgotten, and that their story is known by future generations.
Join the Bridgemen for a day of community service as we once again work alongside the Grove’s staff to beautify this beloved area. This is our second of 2 work days for 2019, and we’re thrilled to be a part of this project! Duties may include: clearing weeds and debris, mulching and hauling topsoil, planting new trees and shrubs, and other related activities.
A breakfast of coffee, juice, bagels and fruit will be provided prior to the event. Afterwards, a sandwich buffet luncheon will be provided that we can enjoy together in this beautiful setting.
Gloves and tools will be provided. Please wear sturdy shoes and sun protection. Jeans and long-sleeve shirts are suggested as poison oak and blackberry bushes are prevalent. All volunteers will be required to complete a Workday Release Form, available on-site on the service day.
Please also wear a Bridgemen T-shirt if you have one.
