Volunteer with Bridgemen: Bernal Cut Path Beautification

September 14, 2019   9:00 am - 12:00 pm

San Francisco Parks Alliance is a nonprofit organization that supports parks and open space in San Francisco through innovative partnerships with community groups, city government and local business. The Bridgemen will be partnering with them for the first time on Saturday, 9/14, to work on maintaining the Bernal Cut Path. The path runs alongside the Bernal Cut, the area that separates Bernal Heights and Glen Park that was excavated to create San Jose Avenue.

We will be doing general gardening duties along the path: weeding, bundling, mulching and planting.

Some volunteer guidelines:

  • Wear old clothes and bring layers of clothes – long pants and long-sleeved shirts (you may encounter poison oak or blackberries).
  • Wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes with good tread.
  • Bring rain gear and/or sun block and sun hat.
  • Work gloves and tools will be provided.
  • Volunteers are requested to bring their own water bottles, which they can refill there.

Please wear a Bridgemen T-shirt if you have one.

If you have questions about this event, please contact Bridgemen Coordinator Alex Ray on Meetup, by email at or by cell phone at 415-533-9733.
