VOLUNTEER: Manhandle in the Panhandle
August 10 10:00 am - 1:00 pm
DISCLOSURE: THIS IS A VOLUNTEER EVENT, NOT AN OFFER OF EMPLOYMENT.
The Panhandle is the narrow strip of land east of Golden Gate Park that forms the boundary between the Western Addition to the north and the Haight-Ashbury to the south. Join the Bridgemen for a day of community service as we assist the San Francisco Recreation and Parks Department (SFRPD) with the ongoing restoration and beautification at the Panhandle. We will meet at the corner of Ashbury & Oak Streets at 10:00 AM.
Some volunteer guidelines from the SFRPD:
— Wear old clothes and bring layers of clothes – long pants and long-sleeved shirts (you may encounter poison oak or blackberries).
— Wear sturdy closed-toed shoes with good tread.
— Bring rain gear and/or sun block and sun hat.
— Water and light snacks will be provided, but bring additional as per your dietary needs.
— Work gloves and tools will be provided.
— Projects take place rain or shine, barring high winds or dangerous weather conditions.
Please wear a Bridgemen T-shirt if you have one.
