It’s Qwere, California TRANScends, and The L.O.T. Project are spreading the love. Join us with our host Valerie Vernale as we celebrate some of our community’s boldest artivists. Working as activists and artists in our overlapping movements is hard work, in order to keep fueling our artivism’s momentum we’re joining forces to do an Awards Show!
The evening’s awardees, honorees and special guests are going to glitter us with wild inspiration. The Golden Globes got nothing on us. Dress up, live chat, swap pics, listen, learn, and laugh as we soak up the glow of our favorite sparkling community comrades.
Do you know an artist, activist, social worker, community organizer that is a queer black, indigenous, or palestinian person you’d like to nominate or highlight for our greenroom slideshow before the awards ceremony begins? Fill out this form:
Want to learn about the collaborative orgs?
It’s Qwere is an international conversation and event series highlighting the LGBTQ spectrum’s most vibrant members. Through an ethnic lens, we navigate experiences with queer culture and media representation.
California TRANScends: Despite legal protections, transgender Californians experience some of the most extreme health and mental health disparities. Through California TRANScends, Public Health Advocates is helping to enhance the capacity of established and emerging transgender-led community organizations to win and sustain state and local policies promoting transgender health equity in California. The Campaign is funded by The California Endowment.
For 20 years, Public Health Advocates has challenged the social, political, and economic systems that perpetuate racial, economic and health disparities.
The L.O.T. Project is extending the call of the Shuumi Land Tax, raising #LandBack awareness, and raising funds for a Land Return of the 1329 Gilman Street property. Aiming to offer the plot of land back into the hands of the organizers at Sogorea Te’ Land Trust.
