QTPOC at Strut: The Basics on Personal and Financial Literacy

Join QTPOC at Strut as discuss ominous topics, such as credit, debt, budgeting and saving!
In this workshop we’ll cover:
• The origins of credit and FICO scores
• How to establish and repair your credit
• How to pay off debt
• The connection between credit and loans
You will learn to use goals, budgets and technology to gain more control over spending habits, discover specific ways to save and utilize tools to help you manage your money.
We are excited to partner with Eddie Tang who will be facilitating this workshop.
Eddie Tang is the Small Business Consultant at the SF LGBT Center where he has also helped with the Housing and Finance Program. He graduated from the University of San Francisco with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration. Prior to that, he was a Financial Advisor for a large bank where he worked for about 10 years. As a Financial Advisor, he had various duties including financial planner, investment advisor, personal and business loan officer, and mortgage officer. In the 10 years, he helped hundreds of families and individuals create financial plans to achieve their different financial goals such as debt and credit management, retirement, investment, home purchase, and education.

Accessibility: There are no stairs to enter the lobby level at Strut from the street level. The building has three floors, and there is a stairwell with handrails and a wheelchair accessible elevator. There are 26 steps from the lobby to the 2nd floor and 48 steps from the lobby to the 3rd floor.
