POETRY WORKSHOP
Have you ever wanted to write poetry? Want to take a shot at it, join us for this beginners poetry workshop lead by Tanea Lunsford Lynx!

“This session will honor the works of black queer women and non-binary writers by moving through a series of creative exercises and guided writing prompts. Some of the poets we’ll center include Audre Lorde and Pat Parker. Attendees will be invited to situate themselves through poetry, deeply in the context of a geographical place and this potent historical moment. This session welcomes writers at all levels of comfort and experience.”

QTPOC at Strut: “SACH means Truth in Hindi.” Short Film Screening

Movie Time!

We are very excited to host a screening and QnA of “SACH means TRUTH in Hindi”, directed by Christian Frances, starring the very talented SNJV!

This film explores the connection between drag and identity. Rooted in love, kindness, and truth-SNJV the reigning Mr. GAPA, fiercely shares his message of acceptance and affirmation of humanity.

QTPOC at Strut hosts a Shut Up and DRAW!

Are you a queer or trans person of color who wants a quiet space to draw? In the Castro? Life can be too loud? Coffee shops, restaurants, stores, all play super loud music, and don’t get us started on the bars. Shut Up and DRAW provides you with two to three hours of quiet space to draw, relax and or work on a coloring book! Bring your sketch books, pens and markers, or that zine you’ve been trying to finish and make art among your fellow POC and T QUEERS!

Shut Up and DRAW sessions are from 6 PM to 8 PM (ish)

The event is free. B.Y.O.S.P. (Bring Your Own Sketch Pad.) feel free to bring your own sketch pads, markers, color pencils or pens.

Don’t draw?, No Problem we will also have some sexy and non sexy coloring books for folks to sit, color, and meditate.

All art supplies are welcome as long as they are not liquid
inks/paints/watercolors that can get everywhere, damage our furniture, or stain our table sand or space, so please don’t show up with any materials that can make a mess.

Some scratch paper, pens and color pencils, random art supplies will be provided for folks that don’t have their own.
