For decades, Adela Vázquez fought for the health and rights of trans women--protesting discrimination, educating her communities about HIV/AIDS, and providing community care to those who needed it most.
This ambitious project, titled, “We Live: Voices of the First Generation to Survive HIV/AIDS,” aims to capture and preserve the untold stories of long-term survivors across the nation.
Crisostomo, SFAF’s Director of Aging Services, will receive the Thom Weyand Unsung Hero Award from the National AIDS Memorial Grove this December 1.
