This edition of “Conference Coverage” summarizes findings from several important HIV-related conferences convened in 1999, including the 39th Interscience Conference on Antimicrobial Agents and Chemotherapy (ICAAC), held September 26-29 in San Francisco. Several hundred HIV/AIDS-related abstracts were featured at ICAAC, the largest annual international conference on infectious diseases for researchers and physicians. Also included are reports from the 1999 International Meeting of the Institute of Human Virology, held August 28-September 2 in Baltimore; the 1st International Workshop on Adverse Drug Reactions and Lipodystrophy in HIV, held June 26-28 in San Diego; and the 3rd International Workshop on HIV Drug Resistance & Treatment Strategies, held June 23-26 in San Diego.

Harvey S. Bartnof, MD, has been a member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation since 1987.
