SFAF and the Caucus for Evidence-Based Prevention
The Caucus for Evidence-Based Prevention was formed for U.S.-based non-governmental organizations and their international partners to highlight and promote comprehensive, evidence-based approaches to HIV prevention at the International AIDS Conference in Toronto
in 2006, and beyond. The Caucus -- comprised of dozens of diverse organizations, including SFAF -- has forged a coordinated effort to advance a strong, evidence-based HIV prevention agenda that reflects scientific consensus, rather than ideological or political positions that in many cases have superceded it.
One of the key products of the Caucus is a newsletter produced in conjunction with major HIV prevention conferences. The newsletter includes brief articles on timely research, program, and policy developments, as well as highlighting key activities at the relevant conference. Read the current volume [61K PDF].
The Foundation continues to support and participate in the Caucus for Evidence-Based Prevention as part of our effort to ensure that the U.S. government's HIV prevention policies and programs are informed by rigorous research and program evaluation, rather than personal beliefs and political agendas.
