AIDS/LifeCycle 5 - Don't Get Left Behind!

There's still time to join AIDS/LifeCycle 5 which rolls out of San Francisco on Sunday, June 4 and arrives in Los Angeles on Saturday, June 10 after participants pedal through 585 miles of the most beautiful coastline and countryside in the nation.

The fifth annual Kick-Off Party was held Sunday, January 8 at the Nikko Hotel in San Francisco, and more than 750 people joined us to get ready for another exciting year of AIDS/LifeCycle (ALC). During this event, we screened a preview of the LOGO TV documentary that was filmed on last year's AIDS/LifeCycle. "THE RIDE: Seven Days to End AIDS," follows a diverse group of cyclists and offers an in-depth look at some of last year's participants, the reasons they've chosen to undertake this challenge, and the inspirational people in their lives who serve as their motivation to participate in this event. LOGO TV has announced that the show will premiere on March 13 and will run through most of April. Please check your local television listings for exact time and channel.

"For returning cyclists and new cyclists alike, the energy of AIDS/LifeCycle is palpable," says Stephen Cadby, ALC's associate director. "Two thousand bicyclists are joined by 450 volunteer roadies traveling from San Francisco to Los Angeles together to raise much needed funds to sustain the programs of the San Francisco AIDS Foundation and to raise awareness about HIV/AIDS. It's a journey people never forget." Please read about Jon Garrison's experiences when he did the ride for the first time last year on page 3.

If you want to experience this for yourself, register today either as a cyclist or a roadie. To meet other ALC participants and staff, come to the upcoming Cyclist Expo on Sunday, March 26 at the San Francisco County Fair Building in Golden Gate Park. For more details about the Expo or to register for AIDS/LifeCycle 5, please visit AIDS/LifeCycle or call us at 415-581-7077.
